The idea behind The Good Capitalist
We created The Good Capitalist after talking long enough about all the inspiring people and organizations in our community that are doing good things, and how we wished there was a way to bring that community together on a regular basis. The social entrepreneurs, non-profit leaders, businesses, philanthropists, and students we knew were doing incredible things, and their stories and ideas were worth sharing.
We know there are a lot more people out there that would be excited to tell their stories and be inspired to hear others tell theirs. And frankly, we didn’t want to give up the cocktails. (We all like to have fun too!)
We are a small team, we do what we do because it is something we are inspired by and passionate about. (Yes, we all have other jobs.) We recognize that world is changing rapidly. Business models are being re-thought. What were unlikely partnerships between not-for-profits and the corporate world are now like-minded organizations partnering to achieve great things beyond the bottom line.
We’re stuck on an idea: we are creating a venue to bring our community together and to redefine business and organizations and inspire individuals so that each becomes a powerful force for social change. It is one small step towards making our community a better place to be. This might make us fanatics, but it can’t be helped. We love what we do.
The Good Capitalist is a community of individuals, businesses and nonprofits sharing and connecting what works.
