Likes For Lives
In light of our Valentines For Good event, we wanted to embrace the real meaning of love and generosity by doing something good for others. So instead of just buying gifts this year, we’re helping a good cause. Because we believe in collaboration, we’re reaching out to our community to take part in the effort. So here’s the lowdown- Through Valentines Day, for every new ‘Like’ we get on The Good Capitalist Facebook page, we’re pledging to make a donation to Kranti, a nonprofit that empowers victims of sex trafficking in India through education.
The Big Idea
Every Facebook Like helps a life
The Goal
100 Likes for one year of school supplies and learning for girls in India
The Charity
Kranti
The Action
or
One of our goals at The Good Capitalist is to try out creative ideas that make a difference in the world. Then it struck us. Let’s make a small donation to a cause we support for every new Like we get on our Facebook page, so the more likes we get, the bigger the donation. Why? Well, we like supporting good causes, especially ones that empower and educate youth in the developing world. On our side of things, the more likes we get, the more connections we can make with our community, and that helps us grow too!
We thought, well, if our current friends can help spread the word and encourage their friends to like us as well, together we can raise enough money for our charity partner, Kranti, to provide students with a years worth of school supplies and learning.
Kranti empowers trafficked girls and sex workers to become catalysts of social change and lead the women’s revolution in India! (It is the only organization created BY trafficked girls, not FOR them. Learn More: Kranti on Global Giving
Ok, this is simple. Go ahead and ‘Like’ us on Facebook (and tell your friends too) and help us reach our goal. Together we can make a difference! If you like the charity project, we of course would encourage you to donate directly to it yourself. If you do, please tell us about it!
